　　it is a commencement speech given by david foster wallacewho was an america novelist,essayist,and short story writer tothe 20xx graduating class at kenyon college.during thespeech,he gives a series of examples of daily life to expressprivate views about life.

　　at the beginning of the speech,foster wallace cites a fish storyto remind us about an essential point which is that the mostobvious,vbiquitous,important realities are often the ones thatare the hardest to see and talk about.according to fosterwallace view,a majority of people have self-

　　centeredness,which means that they are the absolute center ofthe universe.its our default-setting,hart-wired into our boardsat birth,and we tend to automatically determine the thing bythe default-setting.in fact,that is completely wrong,even befooled.

　　therefore,we should learn to choose another way to considerwhat we have seen and heard.then foster wallace cited anotherexample of shopping in the supermarket.this experience is all-too familiar for each adult,the traffic jams,crowded aisles andlong checkout lines and so on.faced with this situation,if youmake a unconscious thought by your natural default-setting,you will only see the surface of the things and feelboring,angry and meaningless.however,if you use that time tothink deeply and make a conscious decision about how tothink and what to pay attention to,you will not think thatexperience are pissed and

　　miserable,and feel this is deeply unfair.as an example of thespeech,in this traffic,all these vehicles stopped and idling in

　　my way:its not impossible that some of these people in suvshave been in horrible auto accidents in the past and now finddriving so terrifying that their therapist has all but orderedthem to get a huge,heavy suv.so they can feel safe enough todrive.in a word,if you are aware enough to give yourself achoice,you can choose and change your method ofthinking,we can find another way to look people or frustratingsituations.so,that not only can make your body and mindrelax,get free,but will actually improve your capacity to adaptto this increasingly competitive word,and make you becomekind,caring.but doing this is hard,needs will and mentaleffort.as foster wallace said,we get to consciously decide whathas meaning and what doesnt,we get to decide what toworship.

　　lastly,foster wallace introduced the real freedom in hiseyes,which involves attention,awareness,discipline,effort andbeing able truly to care about other people,and to sacrifice forthem,over and over,in myriad petty little unsexy ways,everyday.

　　after reading this speech,i was deeply impressed by theauthors point of view which is that you can choose thedifferent way to look the same thing,find its meaningfulside,and faith can be choosen not innate.as far as i amconcerned,it has multiple meanings.on the one hand,in dealingwith people,it can be interpreted as judging anotherpeoples feeling by ones own.this will give you a betterunderstanding of others and make you become moretolerant,compassionate and happier.on the other hand,in thetreatment of things,as a thing said,life is not a lack ofbeauty,but the lack of eyes to find beauty.we should be goodat discovering what is hidden beneath the surface ofthings.whenever i encounter setbacks,i will take the difficultiesas the cornerstone of my road to success,that makes me growand become stronger.

　　above all,we are supposed to choose a better way to treatpeople or situations around us,to choose a significantworship.only in this way can we find another word,a favorableworld.
