　　The Importance of Self-Confidence

　　People say that self-confidence is half of the success that can bring you courage to stick to what you do. Without self-confidence, one can not do well in anything. Self-confidence is of great importance and value to a person.

　　Firstly, self-confidence enables us to have the ambition of being successful. Only when you have the ambition to be successful, can you be successful eventually. Secondly, once we gain self-confidence, we will possess the courage and strength to overcome the setbacks and difficulties. With self-confidence, no one and nothing can stop you to success.Thirdly, with self-confidence we may accomplish something which seems to be impossible previously. No great thing is easy for us, therefore we should hold the idea that anything is possible. We should, or have to trust in ourselves.

　　In short, self-confidence is the spiritual pillar of a person as well as the inherent power, which is of great importance and value to a person.

　　自信的重要

　　人們說(shuō)自信是成功的一半，它能給你帶來(lái)勇氣去堅(jiān)持你所做的事。沒(méi)有自信，一個(gè)人就不能做好任何事。自信對(duì)一個(gè)人很重要也很有價(jià)值。

　　首先，自信使我們擁有成功的雄心。只有當(dāng)你有成功的野心的時(shí)候，你最后才能成功。其次，一旦我們獲得了自信，我們就擁有了勇氣和力量去克服挫折和困難。有了自信，沒(méi)有人也沒(méi)有什么能夠阻止你成功。再次，有了自信我們可能實(shí)現(xiàn)一些以前看起來(lái)不可能的事。沒(méi)有什么大事對(duì)我們是容易的，因此我們應(yīng)該相信一切皆有可能。我們應(yīng)該，或者必須相信自己。

　　總之，自信是一個(gè)人的精神支柱也是一個(gè)人的內(nèi)在力量，它對(duì)一個(gè)人很重要也很有價(jià)值。

　　I Was Sick

　　Yesterday, I felt very tired. When I was in class, I felt sleepy and could not listen to the teacher carefully. And I did not want to eat anything at home. I went to bed early. This morning, I felt dizzy and my head was hot. My mom said I had a fever. She took me to see a doctor. He gave me some medicines and told me to have a good rest at home. It was not too serious. I hope I can be good soon.

　　我生病了

　　昨天，我覺(jué)得很困。上課的時(shí)候我感覺(jué)打瞌睡不能仔細(xì)聽(tīng)老師講課�；氐郊椅乙彩裁炊疾幌氤�，早早就睡覺(jué)了。今天早上，我覺(jué)得頭暈而且額頭發(fā)燙。媽媽說(shuō)我發(fā)燒了就帶我去看醫(yī)生。醫(yī)生給我開(kāi)了些藥告訴我回家好好休息。還好不是很?chē)?yán)重，希望我可以快點(diǎn)好起來(lái)。

　　Visiting My Friend

　　We couldn' t believe that it was a village. The buildings for the farmers were very beautiful, the streets were very clean and there were many flowers in front of the houses. In the middle of the village there was a school with a wonderful building and a large playground. All the children in the village study there.

　　The farmers got richer by planting vegetables and raising silkworms. In their houses there were colour TV sets, fridges,washing machines, new furniture and even motorbikes. All these showed the farmers' life was getting better and better.

　　The great changes had attracted foreigners. Today some of them would come to visit it. We were happy for the farmers. We hope the farmers will be richer and happier.

　　拜訪朋友

　　我們簡(jiǎn)直不能相信這是一個(gè)村莊。農(nóng)民的房子很漂亮，街道很干凈，家家門(mén)前有很多花。在村子的中央有一個(gè)奇妙的建筑和一個(gè)大操場(chǎng)的學(xué)校。村里的孩子都在那里學(xué)習(xí)。

　　農(nóng)民通過(guò)種植蔬菜和養(yǎng)蠶變得富有。他們家里有彩電，冰箱，洗衣機(jī)，新家具，甚至摩托車(chē)。這一切都表明農(nóng)民的生活越來(lái)越好。

　　巨大的變化也吸引了外國(guó)人。今天，他們中的一些人就要來(lái)了。我們真為他們感到高興。我們希望他們富足美滿(mǎn)。

　　July 17th Fine

　　This morning, on my way to school, I was riding when I heard a call for help. A little girl was calling for help in the river nearby. I immediately got off my bike, took off my clothes and jumped into the river. At last the girl was saved, After sending the girl back home, I hurried to school. But I was still late for class. Not knowing the reason, the teacher criticized me.

　　However, in the afternoon the girl's parents came to my school and thanked me for having saved their daughter. Soon the story spread all over the school. TherefOre, the teacher knew why I was late this morning and he apologized to me. The headmaster also praised me and called on all the students to learn from me.

　　7月17日 晴

　　今天早晨，在上學(xué)的路上，我正騎著車(chē)突然聽(tīng)到呼救聲。一個(gè)小女孩正在附近的河里喊救命。我立即跳下車(chē)，脫掉衣服，跳到河里。女孩終于得救了。把小女孩送回家后，我急忙趕到學(xué)校，但是仍然遲到了。由于不知道原因，老師批評(píng)了我。

　　然而下午小女孩的父母來(lái)學(xué)校感謝我救了他們的女兒，很快我的事跡傳遍了整個(gè)校園。由此老師知道了我今早遲到的原因，他向我道歉。校長(zhǎng)表?yè)P(yáng)了我并號(hào)召所有的學(xué)生向我學(xué)習(xí)。

　　July 17th Fine

　　Today I did a thing that was well worth doing although I was misunderstood at the beginning.

　　This morning on my way to school, I was riding when I heard a call for help. A girl fell into the river! I got off my bike, took off my clothes and jumped into the river. After a few minutes' struggle, I finally saved the girl, I informed the girl's parents and then hurried to school. But I was still late for class. Not knowing the reason, the teacher criticized me.

　　In the afternoon, the girl's parents came to my school and thanked me for having saved their daughter. After the teacher learned the whole thing,he made an apology to me. And the headmaster praised me and also called on all the students to learn from me. I felt very proud.

　　7月17日 晴

　　今天我做了一件非常值得做的事情，盡管開(kāi)始我被誤會(huì)了。

　　今天早晨，在上學(xué)的`路上，我正騎著車(chē)突然聽(tīng)到呼救聲。一個(gè)小女孩落水了!我立即跳下車(chē)，脫掉衣服，跳到河里。幾分鐘的努力后我終于救了小女孩。我通知了小女孩的父母然后就急忙趕到學(xué)校，但是仍然遲到了。由于不知道原因，老師批評(píng)了我。

　　下午女孩的父母來(lái)學(xué)校感謝我救了他們的女兒。老師知道了整件事后向我道了歉。校長(zhǎng)表?yè)P(yáng)了我并號(hào)召所有的學(xué)生向我學(xué)習(xí)。我感到非常自豪。

　　Live alone or with family?

　　In modern society, young people prefer to stay apart from their parents and live alone in a metropolis. Further, they have a tendency of postponing their parenthood until late 30’s or even early 40’s. This trend may involve some factors and the most rooted one can be modern urbanized lifestyle which features high level of mobility and instability of economic situation. In addition, young people facing enormous competition and stress at workplace, have to focus on their jobs and therefor have little time for their families. Obviously under such circumstance, committing to a serious relationship or starting a family, which means tremendous responsibility and dedication, is not a preferable choice. Also the extended family is no longer a realistic option and is replaced by the nuclear one. The cost increase of raising a child is another barrier to late parenthood, and this is especially obvious in major cities around the world. This change of lifestyle can have some negative effects on inpiduals and the society as a whole. Firstly low birthrates can result in an ageing population and a lack of labor force in the future. Medical care service will be in high demand and medical cost will rise significantly. Living alone without long term and stable relationships is widely thought to be associated with personal sense of happiness, which would reduce an inpidual’s general satisfaction with life, but increase the sense of isolation. Traditionally, cultures and values are passed on in family daily life. However, in modern cities, the young generation living away from the older one have little chance to learn any from their parents. Instead, they are being assimilated by globally popular cultures.

　　單獨(dú)住還是跟家人一塊兒住?

　　在現(xiàn)代社會(huì)中，年輕人更喜歡遠(yuǎn)離父母，獨(dú)自生活在一個(gè)大都市里。進(jìn)一步，他們已經(jīng)推遲生育直到30年代末或早40年代這一趨勢(shì)可能涉及一些因素是現(xiàn)代城市生活方式，具有高水平的流動(dòng)性和不穩(wěn)定的經(jīng)濟(jì)形勢(shì)最根深蒂固的一個(gè)趨勢(shì)。此外，年輕人面臨著巨大的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)和壓力，在工作場(chǎng)所，必須專(zhuān)注于自己的工作，因此很少有時(shí)間為他們的家庭。顯然在這種情況下，對(duì)一個(gè)嚴(yán)重的關(guān)系或是一個(gè)家庭，這意味著巨大的責(zé)任和奉獻(xiàn)，不是一個(gè)更好的選擇。另外，大家庭已不再是一個(gè)現(xiàn)實(shí)的選擇，取而代之的是核家庭。撫養(yǎng)孩子的成本增加是晚父母的另一個(gè)障礙，這在世界主要城市尤其明顯。這種生活方式的改變對(duì)個(gè)人和整個(gè)社會(huì)都會(huì)產(chǎn)生一些負(fù)面的影響。首先，低出生率會(huì)導(dǎo)致人口的老齡化和未來(lái)缺乏勞動(dòng)力。醫(yī)療服務(wù)將在高需求和醫(yī)療費(fèi)用將大幅上升。沒(méi)有長(zhǎng)期的、穩(wěn)定的人際關(guān)系，被廣泛認(rèn)為是與個(gè)人的幸福感相關(guān)，這會(huì)降低個(gè)體對(duì)生活的總體滿(mǎn)意程度，而增加孤獨(dú)感。傳統(tǒng)文化和價(jià)值觀在家庭生活中被傳遞。然而，在現(xiàn)代城市，年輕一代生活在遠(yuǎn)離老年人的人很少有機(jī)會(huì)從他們的父母中學(xué)習(xí)。相反，他們被全球流行文化同化。
