規(guī)律一：以貼近實際功用為主旨，考查的主題有限
PETS—4聽力考試三節(jié)的考查內(nèi)容雖然不同，三節(jié)中各自的考查形式也不確定，有可能是獨白，有可能是對話，但是都具有生活化和應(yīng)用性強的共同點

規(guī)律二：考查考生理解和推斷的能力
PETS-4級聽力考試考查的是考生對英語口語的理解。在考生能夠聽懂聽力原文的基礎(chǔ)上，還要求考生能過對原文中的部分事實進行消化理解和推斷。我們發(fā)現(xiàn)考試大綱中所列的功能意念表和語言技能表，是PET-4 聽力考試的重點和依據(jù)。為了順利解答聽力考題，考生需掌握如下聽力的考試技能：
1. 在考試中，能聽出材料中具體的事實性信息。如一些物品名稱、商品價格、事件發(fā)生時間、事件發(fā)生地點、參與事件發(fā)生的人物等。
2.在考試中，能依據(jù)錄音材料，判斷出事件發(fā)生的背景環(huán)境、推導(dǎo)出事件參與者們的關(guān)系以及事件的最終結(jié)果等。
3.在考試中，能根據(jù)錄音材料中的關(guān)鍵詞、特殊語氣詞、材料中的過渡詞、說話者升降調(diào)等理解說話者的意圖、觀點或態(tài)度。
4. 在考試中，能從全篇對話或獨白材料中理解文篇的主旨和要義。
規(guī)律三：考查最基礎(chǔ)，最常規(guī)的英語基礎(chǔ)知識
PETS-4聽力考試由于其強烈的實際運用導(dǎo)向，其考查重點放在了最基礎(chǔ)，最常規(guī)的英語基礎(chǔ)知識之上。我們?nèi)粘？从⑽碾娪昂团c外國友人交流時可以發(fā)現(xiàn)，實際英語口語中運用到的詞匯，句型，語法知識是整個英語知識體系中很少的一部分，因此，考生不需要很扎實的英語知識功底，只要能夠?qū)谡Z中常用的表達方式和詞匯有一定掌握，就能夠在聽力考試中取得好成績。
