  1. ring a bell

例句-1:Joe, see that woman across the street. She sure does ring a bell! Yes, now I remember: that's Annabel Lee - why I used to date her in high school. You know, I haven't seen her for at least ten years - I wonder what she's doing now.

  2. sound as a bell

2:Yes, I've just come back from seeing my doctor for my annual health examination. He spent a lot of time checking me over. But he finally told me that I'm as sound as a bell, I'm in good shape.

  3. saved by the bell

Saved by the bell這個習(xí)慣用語的意思是:在最后關(guān)頭得救了。

這就是saved by the bell這個習(xí)慣用語的出處。

3:So she started to walk. But after a few minutes along came a state police car. The trooper got his own jack, and changed the tire for her. You could say she was saved by the bell.
