The term “acquaintance blind date” literally means “exchanging grass”, withgrass referring to young men. Such events are usually initiated by “l(fā)eftoverwomen” — single women who have passed the best age for getting married. Thesewomen may bring single male friends, colleagues or relatives to a get-togetherand expect to find their Mr. Right among their peers’ male friends.
“換草運(yùn)動(dòng)”其實(shí)就是熟人召集的相親會(huì)，這里的“草”指年輕男子。這種活動(dòng)多數(shù)都是由大齡單身女們組織的，她們會(huì)把各自身邊的男性朋友、同事或親戚組織到一起參加聚會(huì)，希望能從對(duì)方帶來的朋友中找到自己的另一半。
