靠個(gè)人奮斗英語美文
In many parts of the world, personal influence is essential in achieving success. This is not true in the United States, where success usually results form hard work, education, skill, and personal initiative(進(jìn)取精神). America is truly a “do-it-yourself” society; success is not dependent on family origins(門第;出身;血統(tǒng)))or the help of an influential person. Personal progress is the result of individual effort.
Because effort and initiative are so important in America, there are many customs that may be different from those practiced in other countries. For example, it is not considered dishonorable to quit a job, even if you have had it for only a short time. Moving from job-to-job, or “job-hopping”(跳槽;換工作), as it is called, is quite acceptable in the United Sates. Frequently, the opportunity to change jobs offers workers a chance to place trying new jobs, meeting new people, and living in different parts of the country. “Job-hopping” also gives employers a chance to benefit from the new ideas and skills that different people bring to their jobs, even if such people are employed for only a short time.
在許多國(guó)家，人際關(guān)系的關(guān)照是成功的主要條件。在美國(guó)則不然，成功是苦干、教育、技能和個(gè)人積極進(jìn)取的結(jié)果。美國(guó)是真正“自己動(dòng)手”的社會(huì)，成功不是靠家世也不是靠什么大人物的提拔。個(gè)人的進(jìn)步完全是自身努力的'結(jié)果。
努力和進(jìn)取在美國(guó)極為重要，所以，美國(guó)的許多習(xí)俗不同于其他國(guó)家。比方說，即使你任職不久，離職也不算是件不體面的事。時(shí)常換工作，也就是所謂的“跳槽”，在美國(guó)是被認(rèn)可的行為。變動(dòng)工作常常使任職人有升遷的機(jī)會(huì)。美國(guó)人喜歡搬遷異地，嘗試新工作，接觸新人，體驗(yàn)不同地區(qū)的生活�！疤邸币沧尮椭饔袡C(jī)會(huì)從不同的雇員為工作帶來的新點(diǎn)子和技能中獲益，即使這些人只是短期聘用。(編輯:趙露)
