　　The increasing population

　　may be the greatest challenge of the world today.The world's population is growing faster and faster.Two thousang years ago,there only 250millon people on the earth. At the beining of the20thcentury,the world'spopulation was about 1.7billion.In 1990,it reached more than five billion.Now at the beininjg of the 21stcentthe world's population has passed six billion.people say that by the yeay 2010it may be seven billion.That means in about 600 years,there will br standing room only on the earth.Each person will have one half to one square metre of space to live in.There will be hardly enough space ror angbody else.

　　不斷增加的人口數(shù)量將會(huì)是今天這個(gè)世界上最大挑戰(zhàn)。世界人口的數(shù)量增加的越來越快。兩千年以前，在這個(gè)地球上僅僅只有2億5千萬人。在20世紀(jì)初，世界人口的數(shù)量大約是17億。在1990年，人口數(shù)量已經(jīng)超過了50億。現(xiàn)在在21世紀(jì)初，人口已經(jīng)超過了60億。人們說截止到2010年人口可能達(dá)到70億。那就意味著在大約600年以后，那將會(huì)只有立錐之地。每一個(gè)人將會(huì)只有半平方米到一平方米的地方居住. 對(duì)與任何其他人而言將會(huì)沒有足夠的空間了。
