A New Head Teacher’s Address to His Class
My dear fellow boys and girls, my friends,
When I stand before the teacher’s desk, or, I would rather say when I stand on the stage, it seems to me that the purple curtains of both sides are drawing open gently. And on this occasion a play full of vigor is on its way. To my extreme happiness, you all, Class Two of Senior Grade One will perform the play who, I think, will be loyal to your performers each. The play may be one of the longest plays in the world, because it will last three years till your whole period of senior grade.
Because of all these, I would like to be a warm-hearted announcer. I would like to take the opportunity to declare that the play by Class Two Senior Grade One begins.
Above all, I think, as a head teacher of your class, I should be a well-qualified director. I am eager to direct plays full with modern atmosphere. The key tune will be unity, intentness, earnestness and liveliness. The main contents will be comprehension, friendship and love each other, pioneering and creativity. The main story will be the love of collective and collective of love. As a director, I will carefully design attractive plots, typical characters and striking stories for all of you. Now today every one of you present shows us your own brilliance as you can.
The stage belongs to you. Of course you are the leading roles. I will be willing to be a supporting actor and try what I can to serve you all. I will share the enjoyment of your success silently.

當(dāng)我站在這講臺(tái)上，不，應(yīng)當(dāng)說(shuō)是舞臺(tái)上，我似乎覺(jué)得兩側(cè)的紫色帷幕緩緩拉開(kāi)，最富有生氣的戲劇，就要開(kāi)始了。最令我興奮的是，這戲劇擁有一群忠于自己角色的演員，那就是高一（2）班的全體成員！這戲劇也許是人世間最長(zhǎng)的了，因?yàn)橐掷m(xù)三年時(shí)間，那是整個(gè)高中階段。

為此，我愿意做一名熱情的報(bào)幕員，此時(shí)此刻向觀眾宣布：高一（2）班的戲劇開(kāi)始了！
我想，我這個(gè)班主任首先應(yīng)該是一名合格的導(dǎo)演，我渴望導(dǎo)出充滿時(shí)代氣息的戲劇來(lái)：團(tuán)結(jié)、緊張、嚴(yán)肅、活潑是它的主調(diào)；理解、友愛(ài)、開(kāi)拓、創(chuàng)新是它的主要 故事。作為導(dǎo)演，我將精心設(shè)計(jì)出生動(dòng)的情節(jié)、典型的角色、迷人的故事奉獻(xiàn)給所有的演員──今天在座的每一位，但你們要最大程度地開(kāi)發(fā)你們的才華。
這舞臺(tái)是你們的，你們是當(dāng)然的主角，我心甘情愿地做一名配角，盡我的力量竭誠(chéng)為主角服務(wù)、效勞。而在你們成功的演出中，我只想默默地分享一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)成功的快慰。
不僅如此，我還要做一名最虔誠(chéng)的觀眾，為你們精彩的演出微笑、流淚、鼓掌、歡呼，我愿意握住每一個(gè)人的手，誠(chéng)心誠(chéng)意地道一句：祝賀你的成功。
三年之后，當(dāng)你們最后與自己的中學(xué)時(shí)代告別，將要登上人生的大舞臺(tái)時(shí)，你們會(huì)深深地感到，這小舞臺(tái)所給予你的一切是多么珍貴，這是一段多么難忘的人生旅途。
三年之后，當(dāng)我們高一（2）班的戲劇舞臺(tái)徐徐落下帷幕的時(shí)候，我愿意聽(tīng)到你們這樣評(píng)價(jià)我的工作：列老師，你是我們滿意的導(dǎo)演，也是一名不錯(cuò)的配角，更是我們喜歡的觀眾。
