我上學的第一天的同桌薛嘉源，他是一個開朗、快活、臉色紅潤、身體結實的矮胖子，挺著個很高的大肚子，最喜歡的消遣非屬大吃大喝不可。他那一臉隆起的肥肉中，生著一雙小眼睛，活像面團團被調皮的孩子嵌上了兩個小煤球。他有只短而粗的鼻子，鼻孔微微向上掀著，有點挑釁調皮的味道。他最大的特點是耳朵，那兩只奇怪的招風耳，如遇風沙，準能用它將眼睛遮蔽起來。他的身體很壯實，一雙小胳膊胖得又白又結實，像小棒槌似的，他常舉起小拳頭，做出拳擊的姿勢。還有一雙短短胖胖的大腿，穿著肥大的褲子，活像兩個直立的圓枕頭。
