　　星期四，那個下著蒙蒙細(xì)雨的早晨，懷著緊張和激動的心情，我來到了磐安教育局參加一場鄭重的比賽:英語口語電視大賽。

　　我們經(jīng)過一個小時的路程，我們來到了比賽場地。我看見幾百個選手在侯場區(qū)等待，天哪！真是高手如云�。。】吹竭@個場面，連參加過多個比賽的我也讓緊張和沉重的心情朝我涌來。我拿到了63這個號碼，多少給了我一點安慰，還好不是在很前面。

　　讓我沒想到的是，前面的人一下就比好了，很快便輪到了我。我拿著我制作的道具走進(jìn)了賽場�？匆娝膫�評委親切的笑容，我又不緊張了，其中一個評委還是來自加拿大的國際友人。我面帶笑容，十分流利地講完了我的.稿子，對評委說了一句：Goodbye！我高興地走出了賽場。心里一塊沉重的石頭落了下來。

　　比賽后的沒幾天，我便知道了我的名次，我拿了一等獎里的第六名。太不可思議了，我竟然拿了一等獎！可是我與決賽擦肩而過了。我覺得太可惜了，但我還是為進(jìn)決賽的人高興，希望他們能在決賽中取得好成績。

　　到了測繪局爸爸看看他自己的手表說：“現(xiàn)在離上課還有三個小時，咱們到秋林食街吃一點東西吧！”我興奮的說：“好��！好啊！我的肚子早都餓得咕咕直叫了！”我們又奔向秋林食街，那里的小吃真多啊！我買了一碗酸菜方便面，爸爸買了一碗小江刀削面特別好吃，吃完了飯，我們回到車上睡了一會兒，起來的時候，已經(jīng)快一點了，我們走向教室，那里還沒有人來，我們只好在教室里等著上課了。不一會兒喬老師來了，爸爸和喬老師聊天，而我只能等著我的'好朋友，沒多久劉儲聞和梁千芮來了我們互相聊了一會兒。終于上課了，在課堂上我們很高興，我最喜歡的是老師讓我們做的那個游戲，男生和女生分開坐，女生換到左邊，男生換到右邊，同時老師叫出來家長一起參與。游戲規(guī)則是：老師叫上來兩個學(xué)生，必須是一男一女，、把他們叫到身邊，老師在單詞書上用藍(lán)筆畫出的單詞是他喜歡的，然后讓同學(xué)做動作，看女生先喊出來這個單詞還是男生先喊出來。游戲的時候大家爭先恐后的搶著發(fā)言，女生贏了，滿教室一片慶祝勝利的尖叫聲，男孩兒們則很不服輸?shù)恼f再玩兒一局，教室里充滿了歡聲笑語，連家長們都興奮地參與了進(jìn)來。

Donovan believed in using whatever tools came to hand in the “great game” of espionage-spying as a “profession， These days the Net, which has already re-made such everyday pastimes as buying books and sending mail, is reshaping Donovan's vocation as well。

　　The latest revolution isn't simply a matter of gentlemen reading other gentlemen’s e-mail. That kind of electronic spying has been going on for decades. In the past three or four years, the World Wide Web has given birth to a whole industry of point-and-click spying. The spooks call it “open-source intelligence,” and as the Net grows, it is becoming increasingly influential. In 1995 the CIA held a contest to see who could compile the most data about Burundi. The winner, by a large margin, was a tiny Virginia company called Open-Source Solutions，whose clear advantage was its mastery of the electronic world。

　　Among the firms making the biggest splash in this new world is Straitford, Inc., a private intelligence-analysis firm based in Austin, Texas. Straitford makes money by selling the results of spying (covering nations from Chile to Russia) to corporations like energy-services firm McDermott International. Many of its predictions are available online at www.straitford.com。

　　Straitford president George Friedman says he sees the online world as a kind of mutually reinforcing tool for both information collection and distribution, a spymaster's dream. Last week his firm was busy vacuuming up data bits from the far corners of the world and predicting a crisis in Ukraine�！癆s soon as that report runs, we'll suddenly get 500 new Internet sign-ups from Ukraine,” says Friedman, a former political science professor. “And we'll hear back from some of them。” Open-source spying does have its risks, of course, since it can be difficult to tell good information from bad. That’s where Straitford earns its keep。

　　Friedman relies on a lean staff of 20 in Austin. Several of his staff members have military-intelligence backgrounds. He sees the firm's outsider status as the key to its success. Straitford's briefs don't sound like the usual Washington back-and-forthing, whereby agencies avoid dramatic declarations on the chance they might be wrong.
