First of all, I will introduce something about it. Beijing International Film Festival was founded in 20xx, and it is sponsored by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television. This festival is aimed at Integrating domestic and international film resources, building a large platform for displaying, communication and trading and making Beijing a new film center of the world. So we can use four words to conclude the characteristics of this film festival, they are international, professional, advanced and creative.
As we all know, Beijing is always the center of China in all ages, no matter in political or economic sense. What’s more, along with rapid development in almost all aspects, Beijing definitely has enough strength and experience to hold this kind of activity. By Beijing international film festival, we can show our Chinese traditional culture to people in the world, strength international communication and cooperation. Also, we can promote the development of our Chinese film. Most importantly, this activity will provide a feast for the eyes, because people will enjoy hundreds of outstanding films.
On the evening of April 16, the opening ceremony of Beijing International Film Festival had been held in the Temple of Heaven. The director of the opening ceremony integrate Chinese long history since
ancient times and light and shadow that modern technology make. There are a lot of singers and dancers showing an exquisite beyond compare evening. It is worth mentioning that famous pianist Langlang also joined this ceremony.
Beijing international film festival attracts hundreds of domestic and international super stars to walk the red carpet, such as Fan Bingbing and Feng Xiaogang, Liu Yifei, James Cameron and his wife, the director of Titanic, Liu Dehua and Ling Zhiling, Zhang Ziyi.
Next part, I will introduce some winners of Beijing international film festival. The best film is Back To 1942. Now you can watch the trailer. Back to 1942 is directed by Feng Xiaogang. Zhang Guoli, Xu Fan and Chen Daoming play main roles in the film. It is a disaster film that during 1942, China was fighting anti-Japanese war. At that time, a sudden drought in henan province force tens of millions of people to leave their home and look for food to survive. This film tries to tell the history from four different viewing angles. They are government, international reporter, priest and drought victims. The government should have taken measures to save the victims. But they do nothing, because they don’t have enough time, money and resources. Japan has put heavy pressure on them. International reporter and priest try to save the victims on their own way. However, the strength of a person is always small. Maybe they can save some people, they can’t save all people. As for the victims, they
can’t protect their property, dignity and even life. However, when no one can help them, they show to us their great wisdom and courage, solve the problems, and then get themselves out of the crisis again and again.
Next winner is Cate Shortland. She got Best Director with the film LORE. Cate Shortland was born in Australia in 1968. Since directing the film called Bad Cop, Bad Cop, she has directed many outstanding films, including Somersault in 20xx and The Silence in 20xx.

1. Power Generation
Siting fossil fuel power stations in mainly rural areas and distributing the pollution produced more evenly via tall chimneys has resulted in improved urban air quality though they still remain a major source of pollution mainly sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides.
Better dispersion of pollutants emitted by tall chimneys leads to better dilution in the air and thus lower local concentrations of pollutants. This has however led to pollution being dispersed more widely and to transboundary air pollution.
2. Other Industry and waste disposal
Although fossil fuel power plants are the major source of industrial air pollution in many countries all industry and many businesses large and small can be significant local sources of a wide range of air pollutants.
All waste has the potential to affect the environment adversely by contaminating the air soil or water. Poorly managed waste disposal sites (landfill or incineration) can also pose a danger to public health through all these routes.
3. Road Transport
Air pollution from motor vehicles has in many countries replaced coal smoke as the major cause for concern; and the continuing growth in vehicle use means that efforts to reduce emissions from individual vehicles are in danger of being overtaken by increases in the volume of traffic.
The air pollutants produced as a result of the use of motor vehicles present a two-stage problem: primary and secondary pollutants. Primary pollutants produced by petrol-powered vehicles include carbon monoxide nitric oxide benzene particulate matter and lead. Much of the lead emitted by vehicles burning leaded petrol emerges as particles. Secondary pollutants produced as a result of the use of petrol-engined vehicles include nitrogen dioxide and ozone.
4. Domestic Sources
As temperatures across the region plummeted domestic burning of coal across northern China becomes the primary source of air pollution. Other important domestic sources of air pollution are:
Stoves and cookers produce carbon monoxide. If ventilation is inadequate or appliances poorly maintained CO may accumulate in dangerous concentrations. Nitrogen dioxide is also generated and concentrations in kitchens will usually exceed those outdoors when cookers are in use.
Bonfires garden incinerators and barbecues can be a significant local smoke and odour nuisance. Burning garden waste produces smoke especially if it is damp and smouldering rather than dry and blazing. The smoke contains CO and other noxious and irritating compounds. Problems may be caused for asthmatics bronchitis sufferers or those with heart conditions. Even if the immediate health risk is small bonfires add to the general background level of air pollution.
5. Agriculture
Agricultural practices can also be a significant source of nuisance contributing both to local levels of air pollution and causing odour problems. The main sources of pollution are the burning of agricultural waste or of crops in the field and large intensive livestock units. Depending on soil type and fertilisation the nitrogen in the dung and urine of grazing cattle contributes 20-40% of nitrous oxide emissions from agricultural land; methane is also emitted by cattle and other ruminants; nitrous oxide and methane are of course both greenhouse gases.

What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Self-confidence
There are many factors that can contribute to a person’s success in life. Whether he is at school or at work, a person is more likely to succeed if he is hard-working, honest, intelligent, responsible, and so on. But of all the possible characteristics that can affect one’s success, I believe self-confidence to be the most important for the following reasons.
The first reason is that when a person has self-confidence he believes in himself. He believes that he can and will succeed, and this gives him the courage to try new things. In order to be successful we must be willing to take some risks, so having self-confidence is very important. Another reason is that a confident person rarely gives up. When he fails he tries again and again until he wins. A final reason is that confident people are not afraid to show off their achievements. This is not to say that they should brag, but that they should gracefully and confidently accept the compliments of others. When their achievements are noticed more by others at school or work, they are more likely to succeed.
In short, I believe self-confidence to be the most important factor in success. It enables people to take risks, try again when they fail, and enjoy their accomplishments when they win. With these abilities, a confident person can succeed easily at school or work.

Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance.
People shouldn’t be short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task. As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, first, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. Second, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. Third, we should not throw rubbish in the parks. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. Fourth, we can live far from the noise.
The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. You might ask yourself, “Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin? Have I ever collected waste paper or bottles for recycling?” If your answers are “Yes”, it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment.
