英語(yǔ)作文 篇2
“Silence is gold” is a popular saying in which many people have belief. To these people speaking too much is not a merit. However, if you always keep silent, you will probably miss many golden opportunities instead of obtaining the gold of silence. Last week I read an article written by an office lady. The company where she worked had two kinds of offices: cubicle office and window office. As a new employee she worked in a cubicle office together with twenty colleagues. Two years later she still worked there but some colleagues who came later than her had moved into the window office. She felt confused. One day one colleague told her that window office wasn’t obtained without request. But believing that she certainly gained one if she did a good job the woman had never asked for it. From the woman’s experience we learn that silence is not always gold. In the modern society one needs to speak his mind and speak for his own interests.
英語(yǔ)作文 篇3
Women are not equal with men
After women have made great strides for their rights, leaders gradually realized the necessity to achieve the equality of men and women and as well increasingly countries has put the principle of equality into practice.women are no longer being oppressed at the the bottom of society and even have equal opportunity to rise to leadership positions.however, gender discrimination still exist in insidious form today.
Women and men may not dealt with in many field especially in the job market with female graduates affected the most. The figure indicates that more than 90 percent of female students experience gender discrimination in the force labour, while more than 40 percent of believe it is harder for women to get an offer than men. “men only”signs appeared frequently on recruit company, women are are refused by their image of delicate and lack of independent as people considered. So that women always lose many chances in choosing favorable job. Additionally , for same work, women receive lower payment at their job than men. Another statistic shows that women represent 50 percent of middle management and professional positions but the percentages of women at the top of organizations represent not even a third of that number which can not but arouse our thinking why do we have so few women leaderThat’s recessive gender discrimination. In the absence of gender discrimination stress patriarchal society,in order to realize their own value, women must pay double or even several times effort than men.
Finally, the ideas that son preference and discrimination against girls took strong root since ancient time, every family continues to have children until they have a boy,if they have a girl, they would like to have another child.Killed, aborted or neglected,at least 100 million girls have disappeared and the number is rising. As we can see from above analysis, women still encounter discrimination or unfair treatment in many aspects. To achieve the “equality of men and women”We still have a long way to go.

范文:
Overseas Study at an Early Age
Nowadays more and more parents are eager to send their children to study abroad before they finish high school by whatever means and at whatever cost.
It is quite understandable for parents to send their children to study overseas because they place high expectations on their children. They are encouraged by the success stories of those who have completed their overseas study. With the development of economy, companies and institutions at home are giving more and more emphasis on overseas experiences, too. Consequently, pursuing overseas study became a kind of short cut in gaining a better future. Moreover, there is still one underlying reason for this rush-economic reason. The rapid economic progress in the past few years in China has enabled more and more parents to afford the huge cost for their children’s overseas study.
As for me, overseas study is surely a helpful way to get both advanced knowledge and necessary experiences, but overseas study at an early age is neither necessary nor benef1cial. The students may be too young to either tend for themselves or think for themselves. I do think that overseas study can contribute to one’s self-improvement, but it’s better to be pursued after one has finished his college study at home, when he is more capable of learning and living on his own.

英語(yǔ)作文 篇8
Deep beneath my heart resides my sincere gratitude to Miss Mo, the young lady who initiated me into the language of English. To her patient instruction, vivacious lecturing as well as her expressive story telling, I owe my love for English.
Reciting texts was how I started Learning English. Quite a slow learner in language, I spent more time than the rest listening to the tapes and reading the texts. It is impossible for me not to remember the time when Miss Mo demonstrated to me the correct way of pronunciation for a thousand and one times after school. Instead of a lonely boat lost on the sea of monotonous discourses, gradually I found myself a confident captain capable of steering my own way out of the intriguing ocean of word(s) upon which the great mansion of English literacy is built.
Later, when we were able to manipulate the language a bit(more) freely, Miss Mo devised a variety of activities in which we were encouraged to participate. It is she who squeezed the limited class time for us students to sink ourselves into the fascinating world of English songs, ranging from Mother Goose, the Carpenters to the front guard BSB. We were not supposed to merely enjoy the music, but also to interpret the lyrics in our own manner and to express our feelings respectively. For the first time, I sensed the underlying principle both languages share and share alike; namely, the subtle relationship they bear with the culture.
On the third year of my Learning English, we are granted a ten minute free show before each class, which served as "a stage to exhibit our talent". Some of us gave speeches; some put on mini plays and the others still, organized debates. Miss Mo neyer interfere beforehand, rather, she took detailed notes and gave comments and advice in face-to-face conversations after class. I bet no one else but she knew exactly how much saCRIfice had been made to boost our interest and to summon our intelligence in mastering English, yet she was the last person in the world to speak a word of it.
During the past four years since Miss Mo was appointed teacher of another class when I was a senior one, I went through fire and water to struggle my way out into Fudan and the satisfying subject I am now majoring in. Passion for English faded due to all these experiences, however, the cadence of Miss Mo's enduring encouragement and the rhythm of our reciting the lessons echoes.
