　　Environmental Protection

　　No one，regardless of race, religion or nationality, can deny that the world we live in is becoming increasingly intolerable because of the effects of global warming. According to many experts, even greater impacts are still on the way.

　　There are numerous causes for this problem. On one hand, human-related emissions of carbon into the atmosphere is causing, and will in the future cause, significant global warming according to the theory. On the other hand, the lack of knowledge about the importance of protecting environment hinders the solving of the problem.

　　It is urgent that immediate and effective actions should be taken right away. First, more trees need to be planted to help improve and beautify the environment. Besides, stricter laws concerning global warming and irresponsible use of fuel resources have to be put into effect and achieved good results. In a word, there is a long way to go before we can take a comfortable world for granted again .

　　The Courage of Never Giving Up

　　Directions：For this part，you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled The Courage of Never Giving up by commenting on the saying “It doesn't take guts to quit.Anyone can quit.And most people do-on their dreams and on themselves.It's always easier to quit than to hold on.”You should write at least l20 words but no more than l80 Words.

　　Life is a long journey like a sealed book which is full of unknown and indeterminacy.In this journey you decide the direction and hold on it. However，sometimes life can place a stumbling block in your way.At this moment，you need courage to keep going and never give up.

And most people d0-on their dreams and on themselves.It’s always easier to quit than to hold on.”Definitely，confronted with difficulty.it is always easier to give up than to hold on.However，constant effort yields sure Success.If you pursue your goals with the courage of never giving up，you will succeed in whatever endeavor you take on.Life is just like farmin9，and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication.Therefore，keep going forward. even in the toughest time，never give up and take courage.This courage determines whether you are a winner or a loser.
