Deciding to rescind the earlier estimate, our report was updated to include $40,000 for new equipment.應(yīng)改為 Deciding to rescind our earlier estimate, we have updated our report to include $40,000 for new equipment.
He decided not to audit the last ten contracts. Because of our previous objections about compliance. He decided not to audit the last ten contracts because of our previous objections about compliance.
The owner questioned the occupant's lease intentions and the fact that the contract had been altered with ink markings. 應(yīng)改為: The owner questioned the occupant's lease intentions and ink alterations of the contract.
An authorized person must show that they have security clearance. 應(yīng)改為 Authorized persons must show that they have security clearance.
1. This is one of the public-relations functions that is under-budgeted. 2. This is one of the public-relations functions, which are under-budgeted.
He did not make repairs, however, he continued to monitor the equipment. 應(yīng)改為: He did not make repairs; however, he continued to monitor the equipment.
MUST change to OS immediately.
1.If you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to, start business emails with either of the following:
2.Dear Sir,/Dear Madam,
3.Dear Madame, is wrong.
4.If you don’t know whether you’re writing to a man or a woman use:
5.Dear Sir or Madam,
6.It is not usual to start an email To whom it may concern. This should be reserved for letters of reference or similar communications when the recipient is an unknown third party.
7.It is always better to use somebody’s name if you know it. If it is the first time you are writing to someone, use either of the following:
8.For men: Dear Mr XXXX,
9.For women: Dear Ms XXXX,
10.Once you get to know someone, i.e. after exchanging one or two emails or if you meet them in person, it is usually OK to use their first name.
11.Use Dear Sirs, if you are writing to more than one person even if the group of people includes women.
12.Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, is wrong. “Ladies and Gentleman” is only used in formal speech.
13.The word Dear may be omitted in less formal emails. Instead, you may just open with the person’s first name/people’s first names.
14.Here are some example opening sentences for emails:
