  作為商務(wù)英語專業(yè)的核心課程,商務(wù)英語寫作教學(xué)的質(zhì)量和效果已直接關(guān)系到大學(xué)生核心外語技能的培養(yǎng)(王立非等,20xx)。為提升學(xué)生的綜合素質(zhì),許多非英語專業(yè)學(xué)科也已將商務(wù)英語寫作納入其專業(yè)課程體系,其重要性在教學(xué)中日益顯著。商務(wù)寫作教學(xué)源自國際商務(wù)活動對商務(wù)溝通能力的需要,其教學(xué)的目標(biāo)是使學(xué)生在商務(wù)環(huán)境中能夠用英語有效地進(jìn)行商務(wù)書面溝通,完成各種商務(wù)交際活動(王美玲,20xx)。而傳統(tǒng)的“教師灌輸―學(xué)生被動接受”的英語寫作教學(xué)模式忽略了寫作是一個互動的、交際的、認(rèn)知的、真實的社會過程,這無疑不能有效地指導(dǎo)商務(wù)溝通任務(wù)的完成。

  2電子郵件教學(xué)在英語寫作教學(xué)中的應(yīng)用

  電子郵件的核心價值是用戶利用互聯(lián)網(wǎng)達(dá)到快速便捷地傳遞信息和溝通的目的(牟宜武等,20xx)。隨著全球商務(wù)和互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的發(fā)展,電子郵件已成為國際商務(wù)溝通最基本最常用的聯(lián)絡(luò)方式(Broadhead & Light,20xx)。在日常商務(wù)交流中,商務(wù)電子郵件的寫作占據(jù)著舉足輕重的地位。最近一份調(diào)查(Radicati,20xx) 顯示,20xx年企業(yè)每用戶每天發(fā)送和接收的商務(wù)電子郵件為105封,而到20xx年將高達(dá)125封(見表1)。

  3 研究設(shè)計

  3.1研究問題

 。1)將基于協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的電子郵件教學(xué)融入商務(wù)英語寫作教學(xué)實踐中,對學(xué)生商務(wù)英語寫作能力有何影響? (2)學(xué)生對于基于協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的電子郵件教學(xué)持何種態(tài)度?

  3.2研究對象

  本實驗選取廣西某高校的61名二年級商務(wù)英語專業(yè)學(xué)生作為研究對象。實驗始于他們?nèi)雽W(xué)后的第四個學(xué)期。實驗前教學(xué)研究者用全國國際商務(wù)英語考試一級試題對所有參加實驗的學(xué)生進(jìn)行測試,并最終篩選出42名成績處于同一水平的學(xué)生作為實驗對象。

  3.3 研究工具

  本研究包括3個研究工具。第一個是全國國際商務(wù)英語考試一級試題一份,試卷內(nèi)容包括20道聽力題,40道閱讀理解題,一篇中譯英小短文以及一道商務(wù)英語寫作題,滿分100分。研究者用這份試題對61名研究對象進(jìn)行測試,以確保被試的商務(wù)英語語言能力在實驗進(jìn)行之前不存在顯著性差異。第二個是用于前測和后測的商務(wù)英語寫作試卷兩份。試卷難易程度與全國國際商務(wù)英語考試一級考試中的寫作部分相當(dāng),用于了解教學(xué)實驗前后學(xué)生成績的變化。第三個是調(diào)查問卷及訪談提綱各一份,用于了解學(xué)生對基于協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的電子郵件教學(xué)的看法。問卷共發(fā)放了21份,收回21份,其中有效卷為20份。問卷采用李克式五點量表(Likert five-point scale)的形式作答。學(xué)生根據(jù)題意,分別在“非常不同意”到“非常同意”五個等級中,評定與個人感覺符合的程度。記分方面,依序以1、2、3、4、5記分。隨后,研究者隨機(jī)抽取了10位同學(xué)進(jìn)行訪談,在征得他們同意之后,研究者對訪談進(jìn)行了錄音,以便隨后進(jìn)行相關(guān)數(shù)據(jù)分析。

  3.4 研究設(shè)計

  實驗始于20xx年春季學(xué)期開始后的第二周。在實驗開始前,研究者用全國國際商務(wù)英語考試一級試題對這兩個班的學(xué)生進(jìn)行了齊性檢驗以確保研究對象是兩個同質(zhì)的組。實驗班30人,控制班31人。分?jǐn)?shù)分布在距離平均值有1個標(biāo)準(zhǔn)差之內(nèi)的范圍內(nèi)的學(xué)生被納入此次研究。春季學(xué)期開始后的第三周,實驗組和控制組的`學(xué)生都參加了商務(wù)英語寫作前測。在30分鐘內(nèi)學(xué)生要完成一篇不少于100詞的商務(wù)信函的寫作。從第四周開始研究者對兩個班的學(xué)生進(jìn)行長達(dá)12周的教學(xué)實驗。兩個班均由研究者本人授課,每周2學(xué)時。在控制組,商務(wù)英語寫作課仍在傳統(tǒng)教室進(jìn)行,并采用傳統(tǒng)的“教師命題→學(xué)生寫作→教師批閱→反饋結(jié)果”的授課方式,學(xué)生獨自完成每一次寫作任務(wù)。

  此外,實驗組學(xué)生只有了解在協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)氛圍下自己在小組內(nèi)的責(zé)任分工,才能更積極地參與互動。因此,教學(xué)研究者把需要學(xué)生協(xié)同完成的任務(wù)以郵件的方式發(fā)送給實驗組的學(xué)生。這些任務(wù)包括:(1)協(xié)同規(guī)劃;(2)初稿寫作;(3) 評價;(4)定稿。通過把這些任務(wù)發(fā)送給學(xué)生,他們便能明確地知道自己在過程寫作教學(xué)法模式下每個階段需要完成的具體任務(wù)。每個寫作任務(wù)協(xié)同規(guī)劃初稿階段用兩課時,評價及定稿階段用兩課時。整個流程見圖1。

  3.5數(shù)據(jù)收集與分析

  本實驗收集到的數(shù)據(jù)包括所有參加試驗的學(xué)生商務(wù)英語考試一級試題的成績以及商務(wù)英語寫作前測、后測的成績以及通過調(diào)查問卷和訪談收集到的數(shù)據(jù)。研究者利用SPSS16.0 對這些數(shù)據(jù)進(jìn)行了定量統(tǒng)計分析,以了解基于協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的電子郵件教學(xué)是否能有效提高學(xué)生的商務(wù)英語寫作能力,以及學(xué)生對基于協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的電子郵件教學(xué)的態(tài)度。 4 結(jié)果與討論

  本研究結(jié)果表明,經(jīng)過12周的教學(xué)實驗,相對于傳統(tǒng)課堂中的獨立寫作,寫完直接交由教師批改,再發(fā)回修改的垂直過程,使用電子郵件進(jìn)行商務(wù)英語寫作的協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的教學(xué)模式的學(xué)生在學(xué)習(xí)成效上有更好的表現(xiàn)。這主要是因為,傳統(tǒng)的商務(wù)英語寫作教學(xué)通常只看重寫作結(jié)果,寫作本身只是交給教師批改的作業(yè),這種教學(xué)模式忽略了寫作是一個互動的、交際的、認(rèn)知的社會過程,脫離真實的交際需求, 缺乏真實的讀者和真實的任務(wù)激勵學(xué)生積極參與互動,學(xué)生的寫作欲望和寫作動力也就得不到激發(fā)。而使用電子郵件進(jìn)行協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的過程中,學(xué)生參與小組活動,從最初的小組成員交流意見,產(chǎn)生想法到作文互評,再到最終定稿,這種小組互動和協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)使學(xué)生取代了教師成為教學(xué)活動的主體,他們在小組中就商務(wù)寫作任務(wù)進(jìn)行溝通,共同推進(jìn)討論并協(xié)同完成文章的寫作,此外多人同時對文章進(jìn)行評改不僅有助于形成良好的協(xié)作學(xué)習(xí)氛圍,而且可以提高寫作的效率和質(zhì)量。學(xué)生之間通過電子郵件建立非實時互動關(guān)系,這種互動環(huán)境的構(gòu)建有助于彌補(bǔ)課堂互動不足的缺陷,同時與其他同學(xué)的作文互評培養(yǎng)了自己在寫作中的讀者意識,及時吸取他人的優(yōu)點(朱銘,20xx)。這種互評同時也是一種真實讀者的溝通,寫作從而成為一種為真實讀者而寫的活動,這種溝通給學(xué)生提供了真實的商務(wù)交際環(huán)境,滿足了學(xué)生使用英語進(jìn)行真實交際的學(xué)習(xí)需求,進(jìn)而刺激了他們的寫作欲望。與此同時,在這個過程中教師通過接收小組成員互評的評價稿副本(CC) ,可以對學(xué)生整個寫作過程進(jìn)行監(jiān)管。對學(xué)生的評分不僅要看最終作品,同時也要看學(xué)生的寫作過程以及他們?nèi)绾巫駨闹噶睿≧oberts,20xx)。而學(xué)生用電子郵件將他們的作品發(fā)送給老師,這無疑會提高其學(xué)習(xí)英語的積極性(王慧莉等,20xx)。

  其次,從問卷調(diào)查和隨機(jī)訪談的結(jié)果可知,使用電子郵件進(jìn)行寫作的協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)過程中,同伴之間的討論和作文互評增加了學(xué)生自我反省的機(jī)會,對學(xué)生英語寫作動機(jī)有正面影響。此結(jié)果與國內(nèi)外很多研究發(fā)現(xiàn)是一致的,例如因為同伴互評討論交流的過程使學(xué)生由被動接受知識轉(zhuǎn)變?yōu)橹鲃訉W(xué)習(xí),因而增加了學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)(如郭映紅,20xx;Miao et al.,20xx)以及自我反省的能力,提高了學(xué)生溝通和批判思維(Mendon a & Johnson,1994)。而在寫作過程中培養(yǎng)學(xué)生自我反省與批判能力作為一種高階思維運(yùn)作至關(guān)重要,正如Vygotsky強(qiáng)調(diào),外語的學(xué)習(xí)能激發(fā)高階思維的發(fā)展,但學(xué)習(xí)不等于發(fā)展,唯有轉(zhuǎn)化高階思維的學(xué)習(xí)活動,才能真正讓發(fā)展成為可能(Vygotsky,1981)。

  再次,學(xué)生普遍認(rèn)為電子郵件溝通縮短了教師與學(xué)生的距離,是師生之間溝通的有效通道。這種通過電子郵件創(chuàng)造的“接觸地帶”可以促進(jìn)師生之間形成一種積極的、生產(chǎn)性的關(guān)系(Doherty & Mayer,20xx),而這樣的師生關(guān)系又可以促進(jìn)學(xué)生對學(xué)習(xí)的投入(Doddington, Flutter & Rudduck,1999) ,從而提高學(xué)習(xí)效果。電子郵件的運(yùn)用使教師與學(xué)生之間的交流延伸到課堂之外,師生間通過電子郵件建立的非實時互動關(guān)系可使其隨時進(jìn)行溝通互動,便于建立融洽的師生關(guān)系,這種及時交流不僅有序地構(gòu)建了學(xué)生的寫作能力,而且為學(xué)生提供了真實的實踐任務(wù),使他們在使用中不斷發(fā)現(xiàn)問題、解決問題、提高英語語用能力(李淑靜,20xx)。

  5結(jié)語

  基于協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)的電子郵件教學(xué)融入商務(wù)英語寫作教學(xué)中是一種可行且有效的模式。利用電子郵件進(jìn)行寫作的協(xié)同學(xué)習(xí)過程能夠有效地把培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的寫作能力延伸到課堂之外,從而營造一個超越課堂教學(xué)時空的學(xué)習(xí)真實情境,這在一定程度上有助于提高學(xué)生的英語寫作能力。該教學(xué)模式在商務(wù)英語寫作教學(xué)中具有廣泛的應(yīng)用前景。

  由于商務(wù)英語電子郵件涉及的是商務(wù)活動雙方的權(quán)利、義務(wù)關(guān)系,其準(zhǔn)確性對商務(wù)治理與溝通至關(guān)重要。具體而言,不僅電子郵件的英語語法、標(biāo)點符號和拼寫要做到準(zhǔn)確無誤,電子郵件內(nèi)容還要敘述準(zhǔn)確,以免引起誤會糾紛。

  簡潔原則

  簡潔原則是商務(wù)英語寫作最重要的原則,指在不影響完整性和禮貌性的前提下,盡量使用簡單句子和簡短詞語。一封拖沓冗長、措詞復(fù)雜的電子郵件既浪費(fèi)寫的時間,也會給閱讀者帶來不必要的麻煩,故商務(wù)英語電子郵件應(yīng)以簡明扼要為第一要務(wù)。

  在具體寫作中,商務(wù)英語電子郵件呈現(xiàn)出的句法特征是句子結(jié)構(gòu)簡單明了,有大量省略句和不完整句。其詞匯特征是用語簡潔,語言簡明扼要。

  另外,為了節(jié)約時間和空間,電子郵件中可使用縮略語,如u表示you,pls表示please,info表示information,qty表示quantity,p“c表示piece,l“c表示letterofcredit,fob表示freeonboard。

  例1中的兩個單句具有明顯的因果關(guān)系,但寫并不使用表達(dá)因果關(guān)系的連接詞如since、because,這種舍長句、復(fù)合句,選短句、簡單句,喜并列、棄從屬的句法特征在商務(wù)英語電子郵件寫作中十分常見。例2中縮略語的.使用,例3中不完整句的選擇,反映了與普通商務(wù)信函相比,商務(wù)電子郵件更傾向于非正式文體,更為口語化。

  完整原則

  商務(wù)電子郵件內(nèi)容應(yīng)力求具體、明確、完整,提供讀者所需要的信息,尤其像盤、詢問貿(mào)易條件等需要回函的電子郵件,更需要清楚完整,因為只有包含具體信息的郵件,才能達(dá)到良好的溝通效果。郵件是否完整,可以用5w1h來檢驗,即who,when,where,what,why和how。

  清楚原則

  商務(wù)英語電子郵件的寫作要做到層次清楚,用詞準(zhǔn)確。具體表現(xiàn)在:

  例1 we will deliver your goods soon.

  例2 中significant一詞意為明顯的、不小的,語義模糊,故可以用具體數(shù)字替換。例2中soon表示不久、很快,語義不明確,沒有指出具體的供貨時間,可改為具體的年月日。

  禮貌原則

  商務(wù)英語電子郵件應(yīng)遵循措詞婉轉(zhuǎn)、禮貌的原則。鑒于電子郵件直接影響到整個交易的成敗,買賣雙方應(yīng)十分注重措辭方式,要婉轉(zhuǎn)、禮貌,使對方輕易接受。在寫作電子郵件時,可以通過使用虛擬語氣、委婉語氣等方法迂回地表達(dá)觀點,提出要求。

  例1 if it is not for the larger orders we receive from a numbero four regular customers,we could not have quoted for supplies even at that price.

  例2 i would appreciate it if you could give me your best quotations for 65,000 pieces.

  例1中虛擬語氣和例2中委婉語氣的使用,緩和了商務(wù)談判的語氣,既明確了自己的立場,又使對方的面子免于受損,語氣自然誠懇,禮貌得體,很輕易為對方接受。
