葛洪留下著名的話
：“覽諸道戒，無(wú)不云欲求長(zhǎng)生者，必欲積善立 功，慈心于物，恕己及人，仁逮昆蟲，樂(lè)人之吉，愍人之苦，赒人之急，救人之窮，手 不傷生，口不勸禍，見(jiàn)人之得如己之得，見(jiàn)人之失如己之失，不自貴，不自譽(yù)，不嫉妬 勝己，不佞諂陰賊，如此乃為有德，受福于天，所作必成，求仙可冀也�！敝鲝埳裣� 養(yǎng)生為內(nèi)，儒術(shù)應(yīng)世為外。
“紀(jì)年曰：東海外有山曰天臺(tái)，有登天之梯，有登仙之臺(tái)，羽人所居。天臺(tái)者，神鰲背負(fù)之山也，浮游海內(nèi)，不紀(jì)經(jīng)年。惟女媧斬鰲足而立四極，見(jiàn)仙山無(wú)著，乃移于瑯琊之濱。后河上公丈人者登山悟道，授徒升仙，仙道始播焉。
有嵇康者，師黃老，尚玄學(xué)，精于笛，妙于琴，善音律，好仙神。是年嘗游天臺(tái)，觀東海日出，賞仙山勝景，訪太公故地，瞻仙祖遺蹤，見(jiàn)安期先生石屋尚在，河上公坐痕猶存。至女巫之墓，墓與屋相連，人與鬼同居，乃嘆曰：“陰陽(yáng)兩界，實(shí)一墻之隔耳”。遂夜宿仙臺(tái)，見(jiàn)月光瀉瀉，清風(fēng)徐徐，碧波蕩蕩，仙島渺渺，天臺(tái)巍巍，星漢迢迢。贊曰：大美不言，真人間仙境也!忽聞谷中琴聲幽幽，玄樂(lè)綿綿。尋聲覓去，至一茅舍。屏息靜聽(tīng)，恐亂仙音也。曲終，一清麗女子開(kāi)門曰：“先生光臨寒舍，不勝榮幸。請(qǐng)入內(nèi)稍坐”�？迪灿鲋�，欣然入室。備茶對(duì)坐，方知是谷中女巫。雖人鬼殊途，竟一見(jiàn)如故，徹夜長(zhǎng)談�；蛘撎斓刈匀簧垒喕刂�，或證詩(shī)詞音律琴棋書畫之妙。談至興濃，康曰“敢問(wèn)神女所彈何曲?”神巫曰：“情之所至，信手而彈耳，無(wú)名之曲”�？嫡�(qǐng)教再三，始授之，今《孤館遇神》是也。神巫曰：“見(jiàn)先生愛(ài)琴，吾另有《廣陵散》相贈(zèng)。此乃天籟之音，曲中丈夫也，不可輕傳”�？祮�(wèn)“何人所為?”對(duì)曰：“廣陵子是也。昔與聶政山中習(xí)琴，形同骨肉也”�？祷腥淮笪�，恭請(qǐng)神女賜之，習(xí)至天明方散。
康畢生獨(dú)愛(ài)此二曲，必?fù)裱澎o高崗之地，風(fēng)清月朗之時(shí)，深衣鶴氅，盥手焚香，方才彈之。雖有達(dá)官貴人求教，概不相傳。及康將刑?hào)|市，三千太學(xué)生“請(qǐng)以為師”，終不得許�？敌糖八髑俣�。玄起處風(fēng)停云滯，人鬼俱寂，唯工尺跳躍于琴盤，思緒滑動(dòng)于指尖，情感流淌于五玄，天籟回蕩于蒼天，仙樂(lè)裊裊如行云流水，琴聲錚錚有鐵戈之聲，驚天地，泣鬼神，聽(tīng)者無(wú)不動(dòng)容。曲畢慨然長(zhǎng)嘆：“袁孝尼嘗請(qǐng)學(xué)此散，吾靳固不與，《廣陵散》于今絕矣!”，竟慷慨赴死。海內(nèi)之士，莫不痛之。”
