This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of bad captivity.
But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition. I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live up to the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal.” I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color if their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day down in Alabama with its governor having his lips dripping
with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
This will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with new meaning. My country, ’ tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing: Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims’ pride, From every mountainside Let freedom ring. And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York! Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania! Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado! Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slops of California! But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia! Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee! Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi! From every mountainside, let freedom ring! When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s
children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last! free at last! thank God almighty, we are free at last!”

然而一百年后的今天，黑人還沒(méi)有得到自由，一百年后的今天，在種族隔離的鐐銬和種族歧視的枷鎖下，黑人的生活備受壓榨。一百年后的今天，黑人仍生活在物質(zhì)充裕的海洋中一個(gè)貧困的孤島上。一百年后的今天，黑人仍然萎縮在美國(guó)社會(huì)的角落里，并且意識(shí)到自己是故土家園中的流-亡者。今天我們?cè)谶@里集會(huì)，就是要把這種駭人聽聞的情況公諸于眾。
我并非沒(méi)有注意到，參加今天集會(huì)的人中，有些受盡苦難和折磨，有些剛剛走出窄小的牢房，有些由于尋求自由，曾早居住地慘遭瘋狂迫-害的打擊，并在警察暴行的旋風(fēng)中搖搖欲墜。你們是人為痛苦的長(zhǎng)期受難者。堅(jiān)持下去吧，要堅(jiān)決相信，忍受不應(yīng)得的痛苦是一種贖罪。
讓我們回到密西西比去，回到阿拉巴馬去，回到南卡羅萊納去，回到佐治亞去，回到路易斯安那去，回到我們北方城市中的貧民區(qū)和少數(shù)民族居住區(qū)去，要心中有數(shù)，這種狀況是能夠也必將改變的。我們不要陷入絕望而不能自拔。
朋友們，今天我對(duì)你們說(shuō)，在此時(shí)此刻，我們雖然遭受種種困難和挫折，我仍然有一個(gè)夢(mèng)想。這個(gè)夢(mèng)是深深扎根于美國(guó)的夢(mèng)想中的。

1.成長(zhǎng)是需要時(shí)間的。你惟一要做到的是，看準(zhǔn)了目標(biāo)以后，充滿耐心地，充滿了堅(jiān)韌不拔的精神往前走，這就是我們成長(zhǎng)的過(guò)程。
2.我們?nèi)说纳罘绞接袃煞N：第一種是像草一樣活著，你盡管活著，每年還在成長(zhǎng)，但是你畢竟是一棵草，你吸收雨露陽(yáng)光，但是長(zhǎng)不大，人們可以踩過(guò)你，但是人們不會(huì)因?yàn)槟愕耐纯喽a(chǎn)生痛苦，人們不會(huì)因?yàn)槟惚徊攘硕鴣?lái)憐憫你，因?yàn)槿藗儽旧砭蜎](méi)有看到你！所以我們每一個(gè)人都應(yīng)該像樹一樣的成長(zhǎng)，即使我們現(xiàn)在什么都不是，但是只要你有樹的種子，即使被人踩到泥土中間，你依然能夠吸收泥土的養(yǎng)分，自己成長(zhǎng)起來(lái)，也許兩年三年你長(zhǎng)不大，但是十年八年二十年你一定能長(zhǎng)成參天大樹，當(dāng)你長(zhǎng)成參天大樹以后，遙遠(yuǎn)的地方人們就能看到你，走近你，你能給人一片綠色，一片陰涼，你能幫助別人，即使人們離開你以后，回頭一看，你依然是地平線上一道美麗的風(fēng)景線，樹活著是美麗的風(fēng)景，死了依然是棟梁之才，活著死了都有用，這就是我們每一個(gè)人做人的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和成長(zhǎng)的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
3.凡是想要一下子，把一件事情干成的想法的人，就算他干成這件事情，他也沒(méi)有基礎(chǔ)，因?yàn)榈扔谑巧碁┥显斓姆孔樱詈笠欢〞?huì)倒塌，只有慢慢地一步一步把事情干成的，每一步都給自己打下了堅(jiān)實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)，每一步都給自己一個(gè)良好的交代，再重新向未來(lái)更高去走一步的人，他才能夠把事情真正地做成功。
4.你到底什么最喜歡，應(yīng)該去做什么，當(dāng)你決定了一輩子干什么以后，你就要堅(jiān)定不移地干下去，就不要隨便地?fù)Q，你可以像一條河流一樣，越流越寬闊，但是千萬(wàn)不要再想去變成另外一條河流，或者變成一座高山。
5.我們未來(lái)生活最重要的一個(gè)能力，叫做忍辱負(fù)重的能力，很多社會(huì)名流會(huì)遇到很多很多你不能忍受的事情，但是你不得不忍受，而不忍受就不可能成功，為什么？因?yàn)槟悴蝗倘柝?fù)重，你就沒(méi)有時(shí)間，你就沒(méi)有空間，沒(méi)有走向未來(lái)的空間，如果你想走向未來(lái)，最后變得更加強(qiáng)大更加繁榮，你就必須要做好給自己留下足夠的時(shí)間和空間，輪到我們自己的生命要想為一個(gè)偉大目標(biāo)而奮斗的時(shí)候，你排除，也得必須排除你生命中一切瑣碎的干擾，因此你就必須忍辱負(fù)重！個(gè)人也是一樣的，你要想有偉大的大發(fā)展，你得為自己爭(zhēng)取時(shí)間，爭(zhēng)取空間，爭(zhēng)取未來(lái)，而爭(zhēng)取時(shí)間爭(zhēng)取空間爭(zhēng)取未來(lái)的一個(gè)最重要的前提就是，你有理想！但是你敢于忍受生活中出現(xiàn)的一切對(duì)你的不公平，或者是一切對(duì)你的你認(rèn)為受不了的事情！
6.我有一個(gè)比喻，每一條河流都有自己不同的生命曲線，長(zhǎng)江和黃河的曲線是絕對(duì)不一樣的，但是每一條河流都有自己的夢(mèng)想，那就是奔向大海！所以不管黃河是多么的曲折，繞過(guò)了多少障礙，長(zhǎng)江拐的彎不如黃河多，但是她沖破了懸崖峭壁，用的方式是不一樣的，但是到了最后走到了大海。當(dāng)我們遇到困難的時(shí)候，不管是沖過(guò)去還是繞過(guò)去，只要我們能過(guò)去就行，我希望大家能使自己的生命向夢(mèng)想流過(guò)去，像長(zhǎng)江黃河一樣能流到自己夢(mèng)想的盡頭，進(jìn)入寬闊的海洋，使自己的生命變得開闊，使自己的事業(yè)也變得開闊，但是并不是說(shuō)你想流就能流得過(guò)去的，其實(shí)這里面就具備一種精神，毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)，這就是水的精神！我們的生命有的時(shí)候會(huì)是泥沙，盡管你也跟著水一起往前流，但是由于你個(gè)性的缺陷，面對(duì)困難的退步或者說(shuō)膽怯，你可能慢慢地就會(huì)像泥沙一樣沉淀下去了，一旦你沉淀下去了，也許你不用再為了前進(jìn)而努力了，但是你卻永遠(yuǎn)見不到陽(yáng)光了，你沉淀了下去，上面的泥沙會(huì)不斷地把你壓住，最后你會(huì)暗無(wú)天日，所以我建議大家，不管你現(xiàn)在生命是怎么樣的，一定要有水的精神，哪怕
被污染了，也能洗凈自己，像水一樣不斷地積蓄自己的力量，不斷地沖破障礙，當(dāng)你發(fā)現(xiàn)時(shí)機(jī)不到的時(shí)候，把自己的厚度給積累起來(lái)，當(dāng)有一天時(shí)機(jī)來(lái)臨的時(shí)候，你就能夠奔騰入海，成就自己的生命！
7.大家都知道西方神話中，有一個(gè)叫西西弗的故事，由于受到宙斯懲罰，必須從山腳下推一塊石頭推到山頂，當(dāng)這塊大石頭被他推到山頂?shù)臅r(shí)候，這塊石頭會(huì)自動(dòng)滾落到山腳，他又不得不從頭開始推起，所以很煩惱！大家稍微想一下，我們?nèi)粘５纳罟ぷ魇遣皇蔷褪沁@樣的一個(gè)過(guò)程，當(dāng)他推石頭，把它當(dāng)做一種懲罰來(lái)對(duì)待的時(shí)候，他心中會(huì)很難受，每天帶著怨氣怨恨在推石頭，就像我們很多人工作的時(shí)候，帶著怨氣和怨恨在工作一樣，你工作永遠(yuǎn)做不好，但是當(dāng)他后來(lái)意識(shí)到這一點(diǎn)以后，推過(guò)春夏秋冬，推過(guò)雷電風(fēng)霜，當(dāng)他推到山頂上，看到藍(lán)天更高更美，他覺(jué)得推石頭也是一種生命的美麗的時(shí)候，生命其實(shí)就得到了升華。我們的生命什么叫過(guò)得合算，當(dāng)我們回頭看我們已經(jīng)過(guò)去的日子，我們有一些日子能讓我們自己感動(dòng)得淚流滿面，那什么叫讓你淚流滿面的日子，你做出了一些讓你自己覺(jué)得做不到，但是你做到了的事情。
8.我自己個(gè)人體會(huì)就是，如何能夠把生意做得更成功的幾個(gè)要點(diǎn)：第一要點(diǎn)，如何盡可能把自己的長(zhǎng)期目標(biāo)和短期目標(biāo)結(jié)合起來(lái)，我們要先分清楚，哪些事情是我們想一輩子干的事情，哪些事情是一下子干完了我們就可以不用干的事情。中國(guó)有句話叫做急事慢做，你越著急的事情，你做得越仔細(xì)越認(rèn)真，越能把事情做好，而你越著急的事情做得越快，反而越做得七零八落。我把這個(gè)急事也把它叫做大事，比如說(shuō)你要想一輩子掌握很高的英文水平，你說(shuō)我用三個(gè)月，每天學(xué)十二個(gè)小時(shí)，你是絕對(duì)不可能，三個(gè)月，你的英文水平會(huì)得到很大的提高，但是三個(gè)月以后你不學(xué)了，再過(guò)三個(gè)月，你的英文水平就忘記了。第二個(gè)要素，就是要決定自己一輩子干什么，那么還有一個(gè)我覺(jué)得非常重要的就是平時(shí)做事情的時(shí)候，對(duì)時(shí)間的計(jì)劃性，一個(gè)人是非常能動(dòng)的.，我在十幾年前做新東方的時(shí)候，我就覺(jué)得時(shí)間不夠用，我忙得手腳朝天，最后還發(fā)現(xiàn)事情做不完，我現(xiàn)在二十四小時(shí)做出來(lái)的事情，跟我那個(gè)十幾年前二十四小時(shí)手忙腳亂做出來(lái)的事情，是不可同日而語(yǔ)的。那么為什么還能忙得過(guò)來(lái)呢，道理很簡(jiǎn)單，因?yàn)樵谀忝Σ贿^(guò)來(lái)的時(shí)候，你就知道如何去籌劃你的時(shí)間了，千萬(wàn)記住一點(diǎn)的是，任何事情的時(shí)間，一定都是能夠擠出來(lái)的，那么還有一個(gè)非常重要的，叫做成功就要你自我約束的，我是在五年前學(xué)滑雪的，剛上去的時(shí)候，就上雪地就摔上雪地就摔，后來(lái)我就發(fā)現(xiàn)不行，我得學(xué)會(huì)停，大家知道滑雪兩種停法，初學(xué)滑雪的人是外八字的停法，但是當(dāng)這個(gè)滑雪的坡度，到達(dá)一定坡度的時(shí)候，這個(gè)八字形就完全不管用了，一定是要兩個(gè)滑雪板側(cè)過(guò)來(lái)側(cè)停，所以我就用了整整一個(gè)星期的時(shí)間，我就沒(méi)練滑雪，我就專門練停來(lái)著，我發(fā)現(xiàn)我的停已經(jīng)做得非常好的時(shí)候，我就直接扛著滑雪板上了高級(jí)道，我有一個(gè)朋友，他覺(jué)得你能上我也能上，他這個(gè)滑雪道一邊是山坡，一邊是懸崖峭壁，結(jié)果他下去的時(shí)候，他由于停不住，就直接往懸崖峭壁那個(gè)地方?jīng)_過(guò)去了，沖過(guò)去他不就害怕嗎，害怕以后他就開始強(qiáng)行扭過(guò)來(lái)，一扭過(guò)來(lái)，一個(gè)腳扭過(guò)來(lái)了，另外一個(gè)腳沒(méi)扭過(guò)來(lái)，結(jié)果兩個(gè)腳一下就被撕開了，韌帶就被徹底拉斷了，任何時(shí)候，當(dāng)你前面面對(duì)一個(gè)巨大的誘惑，和其他任何可能產(chǎn)生誘惑的時(shí)候，如果你自己覺(jué)得自己停不下來(lái)，您千萬(wàn)別去追那個(gè)東西，因?yàn)槟阕妨四莻�(gè)東西停不下來(lái)，最后栽跟頭的一定就是你！
9.偉大與平凡的不同之處是，一個(gè)平凡的人，每天過(guò)著瑣碎的生活，但是他把瑣碎堆砌出來(lái)，還是一堆瑣碎的生命！所謂偉大的人，是把一堆瑣碎的事情，通過(guò)一個(gè)偉大的目標(biāo)，每天積累起來(lái)以后，變成一個(gè)偉大的事業(yè)！
10.有兩句話我是比較欣賞的：生命是一種過(guò)程；事業(yè)是一種結(jié)果。我們每一個(gè)人活是活在每一天的，假如說(shuō)你每一天不高興，你把所有的每一天組合起來(lái)，就是你一輩子不高興，但是假如說(shuō)你每一天都高興了，其實(shí)你一輩子就是幸福快樂(lè)的！有一次我在往黃河邊上走的時(shí)候，我就用礦泉水瓶灌了一瓶子的水，大家知道黃河水特別渾，后來(lái)我就放在路邊上，大概有一個(gè)小時(shí)左右呢，讓我非常吃驚的發(fā)現(xiàn)，四分之三已經(jīng)變成了非常清澈的一瓶水，而只有四分之一呢，是沉淀下來(lái)的泥沙。那假如說(shuō)我們把這瓶水的清水部分比喻我們的幸福和快樂(lè)，而把那個(gè)渾濁的那個(gè)泥，沉淀的泥沙比喻我們的痛苦的話，你就明白了，當(dāng)你搖晃一下以后，你的生命中整個(gè)充滿的是渾濁，也就是充滿都是痛苦和煩惱，但是當(dāng)你把心靜下來(lái)以后，盡管泥沙總的分量一點(diǎn)都沒(méi)有減少，但是它沉淀在你的心中，因?yàn)槟愕男谋容^沉靜，所以就再也不會(huì)被攪和起來(lái)，因此你生命中的四分之三就一定是幸福和快樂(lè)。什么叫事業(yè)是一種結(jié)果呢，大家都知道，作為一件事情，確實(shí)是無(wú)情的，假如說(shuō)我把新東方做失敗了，我是絕對(duì)得不到今天到這兒來(lái)給大家講話的機(jī)會(huì)的，原因是因?yàn)樗詈蟮慕Y(jié)果在這兒，所以任何事情只要你在做的時(shí)候，他就不能算成功，比如說(shuō)我們說(shuō)曹雪芹是成功的，不管是社會(huì)主義還是資本主義，都得承認(rèn)曹雪芹是中國(guó)歷史上最偉大的文學(xué)家之一，我們說(shuō)牛頓是成功的，不管哪一個(gè)國(guó)家任何一個(gè)人都會(huì)承認(rèn)他是世界上最偉大的科學(xué)家之一，我認(rèn)為我自己是成功的，不成功在新東方做了多大，也不成功在我有多少錢，或有多少朋友，我認(rèn)為我成功在我有一種心態(tài)，過(guò)去我摔倒過(guò)千萬(wàn)次，以后我也可能還會(huì)摔倒千萬(wàn)次，但是我依然能夠爬起來(lái)。對(duì)于你做事情來(lái)說(shuō)，事情的結(jié)果怎么樣，在社會(huì)人的眼中，是成功的惟一的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)！
11.我想跟大家說(shuō)的是，人的生命的道路其實(shí)是很不平坦的，靠你一個(gè)人絕對(duì)是走不完的，這個(gè)世界上只有你跟別人在一起，為了同一個(gè)目標(biāo)，一起做事情的時(shí)候，才能把這件事情做成，一個(gè)人的力量很有限，但是一群人的力量是無(wú)限的，當(dāng)五個(gè)手指伸出來(lái)的時(shí)候，它是五個(gè)指頭，但是當(dāng)你把五個(gè)手指握起來(lái)的時(shí)候，它是一個(gè)拳頭！
