　　尊師重教在中國有著悠久的傳統(tǒng)。自古以來，中華民族都把教育放在十分重要的地位。即使人們不是很富有，社會上的各個階層還是會想方設(shè)法讓子女上學(xué)讀書，接受教育。教師的地位取決于對教育的重視。在中國古代，有許多尊師的說法。對老師的尊重，表現(xiàn)在社會生活的各個方面。教師見君王可以免去禮節(jié) (etiquette)，反而官員們見到老師要躬身下拜。現(xiàn)在，中國還把每年的九月十日定為教師節(jié),以表達(dá)對教師的尊重。

　　1.尊師重教:可譯為lay much stress on education and show high respect for the teacher。其中l(wèi)ay much stress on意為“重視，強(qiáng)調(diào)”，等同于attach great importance to。

　　2.想方設(shè)法:可譯為try by every means to或do everything possible to。

　　3.地位:即“社會地位”，可譯為social status或status。

　　4.免去禮節(jié):可譯為be excused from etiquette。其中“免去”譯為be excused from 或be spared from,etiquette意為“禮節(jié)”。

　　5.躬身下拜:可譯為bow down。
