為什么how不能引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句
關(guān)系副詞在美國(guó)英語(yǔ)里只有三個(gè)：when、where、why.它們引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,在從句中作的是狀語(yǔ).
when引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,在從句里作時(shí)間狀語(yǔ),先行詞表示時(shí)間.如：
Tuesday is the day when the garbage truck comes.
where引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,在從句里作地點(diǎn)狀語(yǔ),先行詞表示地點(diǎn),如：
I once again came to New York,where I hadnt been for ten years.
He and his family moved to Italy,from where he moved to Germany and went to university.
He has reached a point where a change is needed.
why引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,在從句中作原因狀語(yǔ),先行詞只有reason.

how不能引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,它可以作疑問(wèn)副詞或縮合連接副詞使用.如果先行詞是the way,則可以用in which、that引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句.如：
I dont know how I can solve the problem.
That is how he solved the problem.
That is the way in which/that he solved the problem.
定語(yǔ)從句
定語(yǔ)從句，一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單句跟在一名詞或代詞后（先行詞）進(jìn)行修飾限定，就叫做定語(yǔ)從句。在主句中充當(dāng)定語(yǔ)成分。被修飾的詞叫先行詞。定語(yǔ)從句不同于單詞作定語(yǔ)的情況，它通常只能放在被修飾的詞（即先行詞）之后。
定語(yǔ) 從句由關(guān)系詞（關(guān)系代詞、關(guān)系副詞）引導(dǎo)，關(guān)系代詞、關(guān)系副詞位于定語(yǔ)從句句首。
how不能,但what可以
1、 What was impossible 50 years ago may be quite possible today (這是what引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句)
== Something that was impossible 50 years ago may be quite possible today.（定語(yǔ)從句）
2、 How she managed to finish her hard work on time is beyond my ken.（主語(yǔ)從句）
== The way that / in which she finished her hard work is beyond my ken. （定語(yǔ)從句）
3、 She told them what she had seen there （定語(yǔ)從句）
== She told them all / everything that she had seen there.（定語(yǔ)從句）
4、 They are building a second library in what was once the school cinema..（定語(yǔ)從句）
== They are building a second library in the house that / which was once the school cinema. ..（定語(yǔ)從句）
